National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed six-day council-level program designed to provide Scouts who are 13 years and older with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home units and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.

MLK Camp is a condensed version of traditional camp, held over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend for Scouts in troops. The program offers Scouts the opportunity to earn merit badges and progress along their Scouting journey. Activities include range and target activities (rifle, shotgun, archery), climbing, rappelling, merit badge classes, and more.

Summer Camp Staff: Serving as a summer camp staffer is an unforgettable experience. It is a chance to spend part of the summer working at a beautiful camp while teaching Scouts and having fun. Camp work is often demanding as there is a packed schedule serving campers, but the opportunities, rewards, and experiences available are endless.
NYLT Staff: After participation in an NYLT course, a Scout may apply to serve on staff. Youth who enjoyed NYLT may want to make sure other Scouts have the same rewarding experience by staffing an NYLT course.

Lodge Leadership Development (LLD) is a dynamic training where Arrowmen learn how to become a better leader. Youth and adult training classes include leadership development, event planning, goal setting, and other tools needed to improve chapters. After the Lodge Leadership Development, Arrowmen gather for a night of celebration at the annual Colonneh Lodge OA Banquet. Together, Arrowmen share our appreciation for the outgoing officers, recognize the Chapter of the Year, bestow awards on outstanding Arrowmen and celebrate the past year’s accomplishments.

Scouting for Food is a council-wide service project to care for people in our local communities who are hungry and those in need. Scouts distribute door hangers in their neighborhoods to announce the upcoming food drive. Scouts return the following Saturday to pick up and deliver donations to their local food banks and pantries.

Adams Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award recognizes the Scout for their Eagle Scout leadership service project, which is part of the requirements for earning the Eagle Scout award.

The Council First Aid Meet is an event that challenges Scouts in troops to perform first aid in simulated real-life situations. Patrols compete in practical first aid problems, displaying hands-on skills from the Scout Handbook, First Aid Merit Badge pamphlet and current American Red Cross guidelines.

The Venturing Challenge is a weekend campout for Venturers across the council. It is an opportunity for fun and fellowship and to bring prospective Venturers to a council-wide activity. It is a thrilling event open to all Scouts ages 14+. Scouts can meet new people, learn about Venturing, and compete and participate in fun challenges/activities.

Trail to Eagle Scout Camp is a council-organized overnight camp for Scouts BSA, similar to summer camp that operates under council-retained leadership. The program provides opportunities for Scouts to earn Eagle-required merit badges along their advancement trail. The camp is for Scouts who have been in a troop for a minimum of one year.

The Spring Long Cruise is a week-long camp for ships. Sea Scouts work on rank advancement.

OA Trail Crew is an opportunity for Arrowmen to provide service. OA Trail Crew is modeled after the National High Adventure Base programs at Philmont and Northern Tier.  It is also an opportunity to learn how to do trail and conservation projects.

OA Bash is a weekend event held each spring, that allows Arrowmen to recommit themselves to the principles of our order: brotherhood, cheerfulness and service. Saturday morning focuses on service to camp, while Saturday afternoon and evening are filled with awesome food, exciting activities, and lots of fellowship opportunities (e.g., games, competitions, Pow Wow).

University of Scouting is a semi-annual supplemental training program. Sessions are led by experienced volunteers who will help leaders and parents enhance their ability to deliver a fun and exciting program to the Scouts. The spring event focuses on outdoor trainings.

After participation in an NYLT course, a Scout may apply to serve on staff. Youth who enjoyed NYLT may want to make sure other Scouts have the same rewarding experience by staffing an NYLT course. It is a lot of fun but also requires dedication to hard work and preparation. Conducting a National Youth Leadership Training course takes a great deal of planning, plenty of inspiration, and the enthusiastic participation of many dedicated people. The rewards for participants, staff, and the Scouting movement are tremendous.

Aquatics Day is a weekend event for troops, crews, and ships. Scouts can participate in canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, rowboats, swimming in the pool and the obstacle course.
