Orion District Roundtable

October 10, 2024 | 7:00 pm

roundtableRoundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month at Church of Good Shepherd (715 Carrell St, Tomball, TX 77375) at 7:00 pm to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. New District Executive

AaronPlease join us in welcoming Michael Polloni as the district executive for the Orion District.  His role as district executive will be to provide leadership and support to the volunteers in our district with a focus on district operations, membership recruiting, unit service, family Friends of Scouting, and product sales. 

Michael is a Northern Arizona University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice.  Scouting has always been a part of Michael’s life.  He has participated in Scouting in over seven countries, across three continents, and in four different councils.  Michael earned the rank of Eagle, was honored with the Vigil Honor through the Order of the Arrow, and served as Venturing President while living in Germany as part of the Transatlantic Council.  Michael and his wife Ashley have recently moved to Montgomery, Texas, to call their home.

Trail to Troop

Webelos WoodsTrail to Troop is a campout for Scouts in 4th and 5th grades. This awesome weekend event includes patrol-method camping and Scout activities.

Bobcat Day / Rocket Day

Rocket Day

Bobcat Day is an exciting event packed with activities for all Cub Scouts. This come-and-go event offers a variety of fun options, including rocket launches, BB gun shooting, archery, bowling, and a 6-hole miniature golf course. Scouts will also have the chance to learn about the different parts of the Bobcat Rank.

Full Throttle

Full Throttle is a weekend event for Scouts in troops, crews, ships, and individual Scouts. Scouts spend a half-day participating in program areas such as shooting sports, climbing, swimming, ziplining, and boating. Scouts will spend a half-day working on a merit badge. Full Throttle is a great way for Scouts to have fun and learn various watercraft, navigation, and aquatics skills from our Sea Scouts.

Arrow of Light Advancement Day

Arrow of Light Advancement Day is an event for 4th- and 5th-grade Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts at Bovay Scout Ranch. During this fast-paced, fun-filled weekend Webelos Scouts learn skills they will need for their first camp out with a troop. Scouts will work in patrols to participate in a variety of activities, including leather belt making, patrol challenges, pioneering projects, cooking, and low-cope team-building activities.
