Arrowmoon District Roundtable

roundtableJanuary roundtable will begin at 7:15 pm.

Roundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church (1001 Woodcreek Dr., College Station, TX 77845) designed to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas, information on policy, events, and training opportunities, and a chance to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. Rocket Day

January 17, 2026 | 1:00 - 4:00 pm

Rocket DayRocket Day is an event for new Cub Scouts and is an introduction to Scouting, and potential Cub Scouts have an opportunity to join. Youth who join Cub Scouts will receive a rocket patch for joining, and if they join they will also receive a rocket that they can design, build, and launch at Rocket Day. All new Cub Scouts in the district, along with their families, are invited to Rocket Day to launch rockets given to them for joining. Packs are encouraged to make the event a pack activity by inviting all Cub Scouts and their families to watch the rocket launches, see demonstrations by district troops, and have a picnic lunch.

Recognition Event

Recognition EventThe recognition event is an opportunity for a night of fellowship and great food as we acknowledge and thank our adult volunteers for the hard work and dedication that made this year incredibly successful. Arrowmoon District’s outstanding leaders at the unit and district levels will also be recognized.  All volunteers in the Arrowmoon District are invited.

Camporee

April 17-19, 2026

camporee

Camporee is a weekend campout for troops around the district.  Patrols compete in various competitions and are judged on leadership, teamwork, skill demonstration and Scout spirit. This year’s camporee promises to challenge the youth leadership. These events cannot happen without each Scout’s competitive spirit and participation.

Early-bird fee: RSVP, pay the deposit, and provide estimated registration numbers by 1/9/25 to receive a special early-bird registration fee.

Day Camp

June 8-12, 2026

Day CampDay Camp is an opportunity for Cub Scouts entering 1st – 5th grade during the next school year to make new friends, earn rank advancements, and enjoy BB guns, archery, sports, skills, and crafts. The camp is a council camp organized by districts and conducted by volunteers from the local area.

Outdoor Leader Training

March 21-22, 2026

trainingTraining is an important part of learning to become an effective leader. Trained leaders impact the quality of programs, leader tenure, youth tenure, and a whole lot more. A trained leader is better prepared to make the Scouting program all it can be! Every Scout deserves a trained leader. See the council training schedule for a list of additional trainings offered around the council. 

IOLS Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (S11): Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank.

BALOO is the Cub Scout leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including packing camping, overnighters and Webelos den overnighters. BALOO training is now comprised of two components – an online component, and a practical, hands-on component. Both components must be completed to qualify as a “Trained” Cub Scout outdoor leader and to receive the BALOO recognition patch. The online component contains introductory and basic information and must be completed prior to the practical component at my.scouting.org. The practical component is an overnight that takes about 16-hours to complete.

Key Leader Conference

January 10, 2026

Key Leader's Conference is an annual meeting and orientation for all district committee members and commissioners. The training covers the basics of district operations and the district's role in supporting units and delivering the Scouting program. Participants will then have an opportunity to meet and interact with other district leaders during the committee breakout sessions.

University of Scouting

January 17, 2026

University of Scouting is a semi-annual supplemental training program. Sessions are led by experienced volunteers who will help leaders and parents enhance their ability to deliver a fun and exciting program to the Scouts.

Full Throttle

February 6-8, 2026

Full Throttle is a weekend event for Scouts in troops, crews, ships, and individual Scouts. Scouts participate in a program area such as range and target activities and climbing, participate in the first aid meet, and spend a half-day working on a merit badge.

The council First Aid Meet is being held during Full Throttle. This event challenges Scouts to perform first aid in simulated real-life situations. Teams compete in practical first-aid problems, demonstrating hands-on skills.
