Roundtable

November 14, 2024 l 7:30 - 9:00 pm

roundtableRoundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of every month at St. John Lutheran Church (520 N. Holland Bellville, TX 77418) and virtually via Zoom at 7:30 pm to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. Rocket Day

October 19, 2024 | 2:30 - 4:00 pm

Rocket DayYouth who join Cub Scouts this year will receive a rocket that they can design, build, and launch at Rocket Day. Youth in kindergarten through fifth grade who are interested in joining Scouting may also attend. We will help you find a pack near you and get signed up for Scouting.  Newly registered Scouts can attend only the rocket launch or the cuboree for an action-pack day.

Camporee

November 15-17, 2024

CamporeeCamporee is a weekend campout for troops.  Patrols compete in various competitions and are judged on leadership, teamwork, skill demonstration, cooking and Scout spirit.

The camporee is part of the Scouting experience that requires Scouts in troops and their patrol to put into action the skills that they have learned in Scouting. Scouts in troops have to work as a team to accomplish many tasks.

Trail to Troop

November 15-17, 2024

Webelos WoodsTrail to Troop is a campout designed to introduce Arrow of Light Scouts ( 5th graders) to the many outdoor adventures of Scouting. This awesome weekend event includes patrol-method camping and Scout activities. Dens compete in Arrow of Light Scout skills (e.g., first aid, fire building, camping skills, games, knots) and will be judged on patrol flag and yell, resources, leadership, teamwork, skill demonstration and Scout spirit.

Arrow of Light Advancement Day

Arrow of Light Advancement Day is an event for 5th-grade Arrow of Light Scouts at Bovay Scout Ranch. During this fast-paced, fun-filled weekend Webelos Scouts learn skills they will need for their first camp out with a troop. Scouts will work in patrols to participate in a variety of activities, including leather belt making, patrol challenges, pioneering projects, cooking, and low-cope team-building activities.

University of Scouting

University of Scouting is a semi-annual supplemental training program. Sessions are led by experienced volunteers who will help leaders and parents enhance their ability to deliver a fun and exciting program to the Scouts. Scouts in troops can take Den Chief and Troop Guide Training or merit badge classes.

STEM Camp

STEM Camp is a new extraordinary opportunity for Scouts in troops, crews, and ships to work on STEM-related merit badges and Nova awards. Scouts can engage in hands-on learning and explore exhilarating STEM programs, exhibits, and activities. If a Scout wants to learn more about science, technology, engineering, or mathematics, then this is the week to be at camp! There will also be a Super Troop for individual Scouts to attend.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is a week-long council-organized overnight camp for Scouts in troops that operates under council-retained leadership. There are unique programs for first-year Scouts and experienced Scouts. Summer camp is held at Camp Strake, a first-class and state-of-the-art facility for Scouts and their leaders. Program areas include shooting sports (rifle, shotgun, archery, sporting arrows), climbing, rappelling, boating (canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, rowing), swimming, ATV riding, ziplining, cycling, merit badge classes and more.
