Coastal Plains District Roundtable

November 13, 2025, 2025   |  7:30 pm

roundtableRoundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm at Calvary Episcopal Church (806 Thompson Rd, Richmond, TX 77469) to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program, learn about district activities, hear about important Scouting topics, and collaborate with Scouters from other units. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteer leaders. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training, as well as an opportunity to share experiences, fun, and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and safety-minded, and be able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts.

Trail to Troop

October 17-19, 2025

Webelos WoodsTrail to Troop is a campout designed to introduce Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts to the many outdoor adventures that Scouting has to offer. This awesome weekend event features round-robin-style Scout activities hosted by local troops. On Saturday morning, dens compete in Scout skills (first aid, fire building, camping skills, games, knots), and during the afternoon, local troops teach basic Scouting skills. The dens are judged on den flag and yell, resources, leadership, teamwork, skill demonstration and Scout spirit.  Find area troops at shacbsa.org/join-troop.  Learn more about the transition to Scouts BSA and questions to ask troop leaders at shacbsa.org/transition-to-scouts-bsa.

Every unit needs to RSVP by the September roundtable to let the event staff know if you are attending.

And no one does ”the outdoors” better than Scouting America. Let’s help new families join the fun. The Scouting America Brand Center has posters, logos, customizable recruiting materials, and more that can be downloaded and printed! Unit leaders can order customized fliers for packs and troops to help recruit Scouts and invite families to join us in the outdoors as we #AdventureOn!
