Arrowhead District Roundtable

Roundtable is a district monthly meeting held on the second Thursday of the month at Parkway United Methodist Church (5801 New Territory Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479)  to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas, information on events and training opportunities, and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. Arrow of Light Crossover Ceremony

CeremonyAn Arrow of Light crossover is a Scouting ceremony that marks a transition from a pack to a troop. The ceremony honors the Arrow of Light award, the highest rank in Cub Scouting, and signifies a Scout's readiness for the next stage of Scouting.  Troops are invited to greet their new members. Learn more about the transition to Scouts BSA and information to help assist Arrow of Light Scouts as they make the important decision on which troop to join and questions to ask troops.

Camporee

April 17-19, 2026

camporee

Camporee is a weekend campout for troops around the district.  Patrols compete in various competitions and are judged on leadership, teamwork, skill demonstration and Scout spirit. This year’s camporee promises to challenge the youth leadership. These events cannot happen without each Scout’s competitive spirit and participation.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)

April 17-18, 2026

trainingTraining is an important part of learning to become an effective leader. Trained leaders impact the quality of programs, leader tenure, youth tenure, and a whole lot more. A trained leader is better prepared to make the Scouting program all it can be! Every Scout deserves a trained leader. See the council training schedule for a list of additional trainings offered around the council. 

IOLS: Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (S11) Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank.  Topics covered: • Campsite Selection • Ropes – Whipping, Tying, and Lashing • Wood Tools – Knife, Camp Saw, and Ax • Fire Site Preparation and Building • Cooking • First Aid • Plant and Animal Identification • Packing and Hiking Techniques • Map and Compass • Leave No Trace. The training encompasses a weekend.

Day Camp

June 16-18, 2026

Day CampGet ready to travel back in time for an unforgettable adventure! Day Camp is an opportunity for Cub Scouts entering 1st – 5th grade during the next school year to make new friends, earn rank advancements, and enjoy BB guns, archery, sports, skills, and crafts. The camp is a council camp organized by districts and conducted by volunteers from the local area.

Full Throttle

April 17-19, 2026

Full Throttle is a weekend event for troops, crews and ships. Scouts spend a half-day participating in program areas such as range and target activities, and a half-day working on a merit badge.  Venturers can participate in special agent training, an orienteering challenge, deciphering clues, and an escape room.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is a week-long council-organized overnight camp for Scouts in troops that operates under council-retained leadership. There are unique programs for first-year Scouts and experienced Scouts. Summer camp is held at Camp Strake, a first-class and state-of-the-art facility for Scouts and their leaders. Program areas include shooting sports (rifle, shotgun, archery, sporting arrows), climbing, rappelling, boating (canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, rowing), swimming, ATV riding, ziplining, cycling, merit badge classes and more.

Mission Lone Star

Mission Lone Star is the new high adventure program for older Scouts (14+) during summer camp. This exciting program includes a trip to NASA + travel, Train Like an Astronaut Program or Underwater Helicopter Rescue Program, ATV riding, Ziplining, High ropes course, COPE, Climbing, Shooting sports, Aquatics, and primitive camping on the Lone Star Trail.

Space U Odyssey is a five-day, hands-on STEM experience inspired by real NASA missions that puts students in the role of NASA scientists, engineers, and astronauts.
