Mustang District Roundtable

roundtableRoundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month (except for June and July) at 7:00 pm to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas, information on upcoming events and trainings, and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. Follow the district Facebook page at facebook.com/MustangDistrictSHAC.

Day Camp

Day CampGet ready for Cub Scout Day Camp 2024: Outdoor Adventure! Cub Scouts will explore a variety of Outdoor Adventures, learn new skills, and make new friends! Day Camp is open to Scouts entering 1st  - 5th grade next school year. Day camp is a week of fun with awesome programs and activities such as BB guns, archery, sports, STEM, games and crafts, rank advancements, Scout skills, fun, and more.

Outdoor Leader Training

trainingTraining is an important part of learning to become an effective leader. Trained leaders impact the quality of programs, leader tenure, youth tenure, and a whole lot more. A trained leader is better prepared to make the Scouting program all it can be! Every Scout deserves a trained leader. See the council training schedule for a list of additional trainings offered around the council. 

IOLS: Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (S11) Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank.  

BALOO is the Cub Scout leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including packing camping, overnighters and den overnighters. BALOO training is comprised of two components – an online component and a practical, hands-on component that takes about 16 hours to complete.

Full Throttle

Full Throttle is a weekend event for troops. Get hands-on experience in STEAM; there's something for every curious mind! Scouts spend a half-day participating in program areas such as shooting sports, climbing, swimming, ziplining, and boating, and a half-day working on a STEAM-related merit badge. 



Trail to Eagle Camp

Trail to Eagle is a council-organized overnight camp for Scouts BSA, similar to summer camp that operates under council-retained leadership. The program provides opportunities for Scouts to earn Eagle-required merit badges along their advancement trail. Troops and individual Scouts can attend.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is a week-long council-organized overnight camp for Scouts in troops that operates under council-retained leadership. There are unique programs for first-year Scouts and experienced Scouts. Summer camp is held at Camp Strake, a first-class and state-of-the-art facility for Scouts and their leaders. Program areas include shooting sports (rifle, shotgun, archery, sporting arrows), climbing, rappelling, boating (canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, rowing), swimming, ATV riding, ziplining, cycling, merit badge classes and more.

Adventure Camp is a weekend campout at Bovay Scout Ranch for Cub Scouts and their families. Scouts can participate in an exciting variety of activities at several program areas and STEM-based activities.
