Thunder Wolf District Roundtable

roundtableRoundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm (except June and July) at the First United Methodist Church of Missouri City (3900 Lexington Blvd, Missouri City, TX 77459) to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. Scout Expo and Rocket Day

Webelos Woods

Youth interested in joining Scouting, and their families, are invited to attend the Scout Expo and Rocket Day to learn more about Scouting. There will be activities, food, and booths spotlighting exciting Scouting adventures.  Meet area packs and troops. Youth who join Cub Scouts (ages 5-10) will receive a rocket that they can design, build, and launch at Rocket Day.

Trail to Troop

December 4-6, 2026

Webelos Woods

Trail to Troop is a special weekend designed for Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts (4th and 5th graders) and their parents to experience what awaits them when they register in a troop. Scouts will have an opportunity to visit with older Scouts and troop leaders. Learn more about the transition to Scouts BSA and questions to ask troop leaders at shacbsa.org/transition-to-scouts-bsa.

Early-bird fee: RSVP and pay the deposit to receive a special early-bird registration fee on estimated registration numbers provided by 9/10/26.

Merit Badge University

August 1, 2026

Merit Badge UniversityThe Merit Badge University is an opportunity for Scouts in troops to work towards one or two merit badges. These are not give-away merit badges, and this is not a merit badge factory. Scouts are expected to fulfill all the requirements by reading the merit badge book ahead of time, attending classes and doing prerequisites. Scouts are expected to participate fully during the class in order to receive full credit for the requirements completed onsite.  Adult volunteers are required to offer this event. Every unit with Scouts participating is expected to provide volunteers.

Merit Badge Counselors Needed for MBU

Merit Badge UniversityThe purpose of the annual Merit Badge University is to provide advancement opportunities. The event can only be offered to our Scouts if adults assist in running the event. 

Merit badge counselors are needed to run the merit badge classes. Merit badge counselors must be registered with the council and have up-to-date Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT).

Campsgiving, held during Thanksgiving break, is the turducken of camps for troops —an three-in-one experience combining a traditional camp (Turkey Camp), STEM Camp, and Mission Lone Star. Winter camp is a wonderful opportunity for troops and individual Scouts to camp and earn merit badges and participate in fun evening programs and activities. There are over 80 merit badge classes taught by Scouters with real-life experiences in the field.

Power your unit's program with our fall popcorn sale. Raise more money with less work in less time! Learn more about the upcoming popcorn sale and how to make sure your unit is successful. 

Popcorn Kernel Training prepares volunteers to run the annual fundraiser and covers setting unit budgets, tracking inventory, managing the Trail's End portal, and running Scout-focused sales incentives.

Super Troop

July 5-11, 2026

Super Troop is an opportunity for Scouts in troops to attend camp individually if they can't attend camp with their unit, or for those Scouts who just like to camp. 


Aquatics Summit

August 7-9, 2026

Aquatics Summit is a fun-filled event for Scouts in troops, crews, and ships. Participants attend two merit badge classes.  In addition, there will be opportunities to try climbing and paddleboarding. Sea Scouts and Venturers can participate in survivor-inspired adventures. Troops, crews, and ships can camp for the weekend.

Lifeguard Training

August 14-16 or 28-30, 2026

The American Red Cross lifeguard class teaches participants to recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies through hands-on training in skills like water rescue, First Aid, CPR, and AED use. The program includes a prerequisite swim test and ends with final skills assessments, resulting in a nationally recognized certification that satisfies workplace requirements. The course for Scouts ages 15+ and adults lasts 23-27 hours, comprising both online and in-person components,

Full Throttle

September 18-20, 2026

Full Throttle is a weekend event for Scouts in troops, crews, ships, and individual Scouts. Scouts spend a half-day participating in program areas such as shooting sports, climbing, swimming, ziplining, and boating. Scouts will spend a half-day working on a merit badge. Full Throttle is a great way for Scouts to have fun, learn essential skills that could be useful in a survival scenario, and earn survival-related merit badges.
