Iron Horse District Roundtable

May 14, 2026 | 7:00 pm

roundtableRoundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month at the Bammel Church of Christ (2700 Cypress Creek Pkwy, Houston, TX 77068) at 7:00 pm to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts.

Iron Horse Rocket Day

Rocket DayRocket Day is a free, fun-filled event for Scouts of all ages (kindergarten to age 17) and families in Klein ISD and Spring ISD. Youth interested in joining Scouts may also attend; volunteers will help you find a pack near you and get signed up for Scouting.

Trail to Troop

Webelos Woods

Trail to Troop is a campout designed to introduce 4th- and 5th-grade Scouts to the many outdoor adventures Scouting offers. This fantastic weekend event includes patrol-method camping and Scout activities. On Saturday morning, Webelos dens compete in Scouting competitions, and during the afternoon, local troops teach basic Scouting skills. Find area troops at shacbsa.org/join-troop. 

Early-bird fee: RSVP and provide estimated registration numbers by 8/15/26 to receive a special early-bird registration fee.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is a week-long council-organized overnight camp for Scouts in troops that operates under council-retained leadership. There are unique programs for first-year Scouts and experienced Scouts. Summer camp is held at Camp Strake, a first-class and state-of-the-art facility for Scouts and their leaders. Program areas include shooting sports (rifle, shotgun, archery, sporting arrows), climbing, rappelling, boating (canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, rowing), swimming, ATV riding, ziplining, cycling, merit badge classes and more.

Mission Lone Star

Mission Lone Star

Mission Lone Star is the new high adventure program for older Scouts (14+) during summer camp. This exciting program includes a trip to NASA + travel, Train Like an Astronaut Program or Underwater Helicopter Rescue Program, ATV riding, Ziplining, High ropes course, COPE, Climbing, Shooting sports, Aquatics, and primitive camping on the Lone Star Trail.
