Step into our own Orion National Park themed District Dinner as we celebrate our adult volunteers for their hard work and dedication that made the last year successful!  Enjoy a night of fellowship, great food and campfire stories that highlight the events of 2022.  

District dinner is an opportunity for a night of fellowship and great food as we acknowledge and thank our adult volunteers for the hard work and dedication that made this year incredibly successful. Orion District’s outstanding leaders at the unit and district levels will also be recognized. All volunteers in Orion District are invited to this evening of festivity and honor. 

Registration

The registration fee is $21.50 for the first person and $20 for each additional person who registers at the same time. Tickets can only be purchased online with credit card or electronic check.

After 1/25/22, a late fee of $5.00 will apply; food is not guaranteed for late registration. Registration closes 1/27/2023. There is no onsite registration. Council refund policy.

District Award Nominations
Due by January Roundtable

District Award of MeritNominate Scouters who have served Orion District youth above and beyond the call of duty. Nominations must be submitted by January roundtable.

Eligibility

Description

Community Leadership Award Any community leader Presented to a community leader who has provided outstanding support to the Scouting program in our district
Family of the Year Families with at least one BSA registered adult Presented to a family who has, as a group, provided outstanding support to the Scouting program in our district.
Most Valuable Scouter Award BSA registered adult leader Recognizes Scouters who everyone in the unit always seems to turn to when there is a need within the unit - every unit should nominate at least one!
Courageous Scouter Award BSA registered adult leader Honors a Scouter who, while facing their own personal challenges, provides exceptional leadership to youth at the unit level.
District Award of Merit BSA registered adult leader Presented to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level.

Eligibility

Description

Gold Star Award (will download Excel file) All units Award for those units who are fully providing the Scouting program and supporting the council and district. This award is self-nominated. All qualifying units can earn the Gold Star Award. The top unit of each type will receive the Platinum Star Award. See the Journey to Excellence forms.
Excellence in Training Award (in PDF) All units Recognizes units who have set a high standard in leadership training. This award is self-nominated.
Chartered Partner Award All chartered partners Presented to chartered partners that have demonstrated excellence in their relationships.

Late-breaking news and announcements will be emailed to those registered and posted on the Orion District Facebook page.
