The recognition event is an opportunity for a night of fellowship and great food as we acknowledge and thank our adult volunteers for the hard work and dedication that made this year incredibly successful. Orion District’s outstanding leaders at the unit and district levels will also be recognized. All volunteers in Orion District are invited to this evening of festivity and honor.

Eligibility

Description
Community Leadership Award Any community leader Presented to a community leader who has provided outstanding support to the Scouting program in our district
Family of the Year Families with at least one registered adult Presented to a family who has, as a group, provided outstanding support to the Scouting program in our district.
Most Valuable Scouter Award Registered leader Recognizes Scouters who everyone in the unit always seems to turn to when there is a need within the unit - every unit should nominate at least one!
Courageous Scouter Award Registered leader Honors a Scouter who, while facing their own personal challenges, provides exceptional leadership to youth at the unit level.
District Award of Merit Registered leader Presented to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level.

Eligibility

Description
Gold Star Award (Excel) All units Award for units fully providing the Scouting program and supporting the council and district. This award is self-nominated. All qualifying units can earn the Gold Star Award. The top unit of each type will receive the Platinum Star Award. See the Journey to Excellence forms.
Excellence in Training Award (PDF) All units Recognizes units that have set a high standard in leadership training. This award is self-nominated.
Chartered Partner Award All chartered partners Presented to chartered partners that have demonstrated excellence in their relationships.
