San Jacinto District Roundtable

March 13, 2025  |  7:00 pm

Roundtable Roundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, (14045 Space Center Blvd, Houston, Texas 77062) at 7:00 pm to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas, information on events and training opportunities, and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts.

Camporee

February 21-23, 2025

camporeeCamporee is a weekend campout for troops around the district. Scouts in patrols compete in various competitions and are judged on leadership, teamwork, skill demonstration and Scout spirit.  

Every unit needs to RSVP to let the event staff if you are attending. Estimated numbers are provided to the council so the district can reserve the appropriate number of campsites and program areas for the event.

Day Camp

Day CampDay Camp is an opportunity for Cub Scouts entering 1st – 5th grade during the next school year to make new friends, earn rank advancements, and enjoy BB guns, archery, sports, skills, and crafts. The camp is a council camp organized by districts and conducted by volunteers from the local area.

Trail to Eagle Camp

Trail to Eagle is a council-organized overnight camp for Scouts BSA, similar to summer camp that operates under council-retained leadership. The program provides opportunities for Scouts to earn Eagle-required merit badges along their advancement trail. Troops and individual Scouts can attend.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is a week-long council-organized overnight camp for Scouts in troops that operates under council-retained leadership. There are unique programs for first-year Scouts and experienced Scouts. Summer camp is held at Camp Strake, a first-class and state-of-the-art facility for Scouts and their leaders. Program areas include shooting sports (rifle, shotgun, archery, sporting arrows), climbing, rappelling, boating (canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, rowing), swimming, ATV riding, ziplining, cycling, merit badge classes and more.
