The Sam Houston Area Council serves approximately 25,000 youth in 16 counties in Southeast Texas through dedicated service and leadership of approximately 10,000 adult volunteers. Scouting is completely funded by the generosity of those that believe in its mission.

Mission Lone Star

Mission Lone Star is a high adventure program for older Scouts attending summer camp. This exciting program includes a trip to NASA, ATV riding, zip lining, primitive camping on the Lone Star Trail, and more.

Eagle Scout Project of the Year

Eagle Scout Project of the Year

The Adams Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award recognizes the Scout for their Eagle Scout leadership service project, which is part of the requirements for earning the Eagle Scout award. Nominations are due January 31, 2025.

Scouting for Food

Scouting for Food

Scouting for Food, a council-wide service project to care for people in our local communities who are hungry, begins January 25, 2025, as Scouts distribute door hangers. Scouts return February 1, 2025, to pick up and deliver donations.

Full Throttle

Full Throttle is a weekend event for troops. Scouts can participate in program areas and work on a STEAM-related merit badge. February 14-16, 2025.

Webelos Coyote Extreme

Webelos Coyote Extreme

Webelos Coyote Trail Xtreme is a campout for 4th-grade Webelos Scouts, featuring canoeing, skill-building, teamwork, learning essential Scouting skills, and working on adventures. May 9-10, 2025.

The council is dedicated to ensuring all Scouts can attend camp. Campership aid aims to make attending camping programs possible for deserving Scouts who otherwise would not be able to meet the fee requirements.
