About Venturing Forums

VOA VenturingVenturing Forums are typically held in January, April, and October, either online or at the Cockrell Scout Center at 7:00 pm, and provide a valuable resource and enjoyable opportunity for your entire Venturing crew.  Each forum offers a chance to get to know fellow Venturers from across the council and features a program packed with ideas and opportunities for your crew to take advantage of and incorporate into its annual program plan.  The council’s youth Venturing officers take the lead in driving this program and making it an excellent experience for both the youth and adults in the Venturing program.  Bring the whole crew or ship – and prospective Venturers!

About Venturing Roundtables

VenturingVenturing roundtables are held online and are similar to district roundtables. The Venturing Officers Association (VOA) promotes upcoming Venturing events. These sessions allow participants to share best practices, seek advice, provide feedback, and shape SHAC Venturing events. Each crew should have at least one advisor and one youth, preferably the crew President, in attendance to represent their crew. Roundtables are typically held online on weekday evenings.

About the Venturing Officer's Association

VOAThe Venturing Officers' Association (VOA) is a youth-led group within Scouting America that provides leadership opportunities and a voice for young people in the Venturing program. It's a team of four youth officers elected by their peers, supported by advisors, that helps to organize program events, lead trainings, and facilitate collaboration among Venturing crews in the council. The youth officers take the lead in driving the council Venturing program, making it a great experience for youth and adults. The officers plan the council Venturing events (e.g., Venturing Challenge) and run the Venturing Forums. The officers are elected annually at the Venturing Banquet. If you are interested in running for office or would like to nominate someone to run for office, complete a nomination form. For questions about the SHAC Venturing Officers Association (VOA), contact an officer.
