New District Executive

Please join us in welcoming Matt Newton as the district executive for the Raven District.  His role as district executive will be to provide leadership and support to the volunteers in our district with a focus on district operations, membership recruiting, unit service, family Friends of Scouting, and product sales. Matthew is a proud Houstonian, having been raised in the greater Houston Metro area.  Matthew graduated from Sam Houston State University and recently earned a graduate degree from Urshan University.  He earned the rank of Eagle Scoutin the Sam Houston Area Council. Matthew has experience in staff leadership, personnel management, and the organization of volunteer teams.  He began his career with the Sam Houston Area Council in February 2025, serving as the District Executive in the Raven District.
