The recognition event is an opportunity for a night of fellowship and great food as we acknowledge and thank our adult volunteers for the hard work and dedication that made this year incredibly successful. Arrowmoon District’s outstanding leaders at the unit and district levels will also be recognized.  All volunteers in Arrowmoon District are invited.

Tickets to the banquet are $20. There is no charge for the class of 2024 Eagle Scouts or for children (ages 12 & under). The deadline to order tickets is 1/20/25. Order tickets online with credit card or electronic check. Council refund policy.

Award Nominations

Due by December 20, 2024

Nominate Scouters who have served Arrowmoon District youth above and beyond the call of duty. 

Nomination Form  

  • Arrowmoon Award is given to a volunteer who has successfully taken the reigns for one or more districtwide events or has improved on an event from years past.  This person leads by example and makes every effort to help the district grow through successful events that attract more youth.  
  • Committee Chair of the Year is presented to a committee chair with a proven track record of providing the best possible program for their unit and attends monthly roundtables and breakout sessions to help contribute to the district. 
  • Cubmaster of the Year is presented to a Cubmaster with a proven track record of providing the best program for their pack. The pack should have a history of participating in district events, popcorn sales, and Friends of Scouting. 
  • District Award of MeritDistrict Award of Merit is the highest award that can be given on a district level and is presented to the volunteer who demonstrates dedication to the Scouting program and their community. This person will be recognized for their unselfish giving of time to their community and their pursuit for a better tomorrow.
  • Extra Miler is given to someone in leadership who, during the year, has done something to go above and beyond their duties to make the Scouting program better for your Scouts. 
  • Family of the Year is awarded to the family that has gone above and beyond for Scouting. This family has an active involvement of at least a combination of two or more (adults and/or youth), and without them, the unit/district wouldn't be as successful. The extra effort that families put forth, in addition to their family responsibilities, deserves to be recognized.
  • Key Person Award is given to that one leader in your unit who seems to be the key to what is happening in the unit. (one per unit)
  • Adult Leader of the Year is given to an outstanding volunteer(s) who goes above and beyond his/her unit responsibilities, working on a district level to make positive changes within the Scouting community. This person brings new ideas to the table, helps move the district into the future, and changes how our community sees Scouting. 
  • Scout of the Year is given to a Scout in a troop, crew, or ship who has gone above and beyond for their unit and community in the last calendar year. This Scout should be actively engaged in Scouting and their community and exemplify the Scout Oath and Law. 
  • Scoutmaster of the Year is presented to a Scoutmaster with a proven track record of providing the best possible program for his/her troop. The troop should have a history of participating in district activities, such as summer camp, camporee, popcorn sales, and Friends of Scouting. 
  • Spark Plug Award is given to that special person in your unit who gives that spark to the unit that can make things happen.
  • Unit Award of the Year. Strong units have adults and youth who participate and staff events, attend additional training, and provide service to the community. This is given to a unit that has met leadership, participation, training, and service requirements since the last district awards recognition dinner.
  • Unit Key 3 Award of Merit is presented to a Key 3 member with a proven track record of providing the best possible program for their unit. The unit should have a history of participating in district/council events, popcorn sales, and Friends of Scouting. This a unit of a high-performing status that has a leader that works to bring value to the program (top 2 awardees out of 4 Scouting programs: Cubs, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, with no program receiving more than one award)

Additional Adult Awards: Council and National Awards

  • Silver Beaver Award The Silver Beaver Award is a national award presented by the council. It is the highest form of recognition that a local council can bestow on a volunteer. Nominations are due by May 1. The District Recognition Chair is available to assist Scouters in preparing nominations.
  • Unit Leader Award of Merit Recognizes Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Crew Advisors, and Skippers who provide a quality program to youth. Nominations accepted at any time.
  • Venturing Leadership Award – Recognizes Venturers who have made exceptional contributions to Venturing and who exemplify the Venturing Code. Nominations are due by June 15.
  • Distinguished Conservation Service Award (DCSA) – Recognizes adult volunteers for influence on youth and educational programs, with an emphasis on sound stewardship of natural resources and environmental improvement during a period of at least three years.
  • SHAC Conservation Award Recognizes youth for completing a Hornaday qualifying conservation project, and adult volunteers for involvement in teaching the value of natural systems and wise resource management.
  • William D. Boyce New-Unit Organizer Award - Presented to recognize volunteers who organize one or more traditional Scouting units. The recognition is a knot and a certificate.
  • Training Awards (click the link, then scroll down to training awards at the bottom) - Recognizes unit Scouters for tenure, training, and performance in their leadership roles.
