Texas Skies District Roundtable

roundtableRoundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at Houston Community College in room 101 A/B ( 22910 Colonial Parkway, Katy, TX 77449) to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program.  Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas, information on events and training opportunities, and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts.

Camporee

March 20-22, 2026

CamporeeCamporee is a weekend campout for troops. Patrols from different troops will compete in various competitions and be judged on leadership, teamwork, Scouting skills and Scout spirit. Scouts from different troops will come together for friendly competition! In addition, Scouts will have an opportunity to learn from and about each other through team building and skill-based activities.

The weekend will afford troops an opportunity to focus on key Scouting rank requirements in addition to teamwork and camaraderie. Events are competitive; however, the main aim is to practice new and fun skills, sportsmanship and outreach to other Scouts.

Early-bird fee: RSVP, pay the deposit, and provide estimated registration numbers by 2/14/26 to receive a special early-bird registration fee.

Day Camp

June 9-11, 2026 | 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Day CampGet ready to travel back in time for an unforgettable adventure! Day Camp is an opportunity for Cub Scouts entering 1st – 5th grade during the next school year to make new friends, earn rank advancements, and enjoy BB guns, archery, sports, skills, and crafts. The camp is a council camp organized by districts and conducted by volunteers from the local area.

Full Throttle

April 17-19, 2026

Full Throttle is a weekend event for troops, crews and ships. Scouts spend a half-day participating in program areas such as range and target activities, and a half-day working on a merit badge.  Venturers can participate in special agent training, an orienteering challenge, deciphering clues, and an escape room.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is a week-long council-organized overnight camp for Scouts in troops that operates under council-retained leadership. There are unique programs for first-year Scouts and experienced Scouts. Summer camp is held at Camp Strake, a first-class and state-of-the-art facility for Scouts and their leaders. Program areas include shooting sports (rifle, shotgun, archery, sporting arrows), climbing, rappelling, boating (canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, rowing), swimming, ATV riding, ziplining, cycling, merit badge classes and more.

Mission Lone Star

Mission Lone Star is the new high adventure program for older Scouts (14+) during summer camp. This exciting program includes a trip to NASA + travel, Train Like an Astronaut Program or Underwater Helicopter Rescue Program, ATV riding, Ziplining, High ropes course, COPE, Climbing, Shooting sports, Aquatics, and primitive camping on the Lone Star Trail.

Space U Odyssey

June 28-July 3 or July 12-17, 2026

Space U Odyssey is a five-day, hands-on STEM experience inspired by real NASA missions that puts students in the role of NASA scientists, engineers, and astronauts.
