The District Awards Reception is an evening of fellowship and gratitude as we acknowledge our adult volunteers for their hard work and dedication over the past year. Outstanding leaders at the unit and district levels will be recognized. This event is based on last year's participation and performance. All volunteers in Red Wolf District are invited to attend.
A formal program will begin at 7:00 pm, then immediately after the program, there will be a time for fellowship. Scouters are encouraged to wear their field uniform.
The registration fee is $16.50 for the first Scouter and $15 for each additional Scouter. The registration fee for Eagle Scouts who earned the Eagle Scout rank in 2023 is $5. At checkout, pay with a credit card or electronic check. There is no onsite registration or payment. Council Refund Policy.
Due by January 15, 2024
Nominate Scouters who have served youth above and beyond the call of duty at the unit and district level for special awards. This is an opportunity to help recognize and thank leaders and volunteers who helped the unit succeed in delivering a great Scouting program. All nominations are confidential. To avoid possible disappointment, do not notify the nominee of this action. Awards are presented to volunteers at the Red Wolf District Recognition Event.
District Award of Merit
The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts in the same manner that the Silver Beaver is a national award presented by councils. The award is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level. The award is made available annually on the basis of one for each 25 traditional units or fraction thereof. The district need not present all the awards to which it is entitled each year. It is not appropriate to nominate a Scouter who has already received this award. A professional Scouter or council employee may not receive this award based on employment service. However, a professional Scouter or employee who also serves as a volunteer Scouter may be eligible, based on volunteer service. (Source)
Charter/Business Partner of the Year
The district will honor one chartered partner who has contributed greatly to Scouting. This award promotes strong relationships between chartered organizations and Boy Scouts of America. Awards are presented at the district dinner. Nominees may be religious communities; educational groups; civic, service, or fraternal associations; or business, industry, labor, military, or veterans organizations. The nominee should display attributes similar to the following:
- Demonstrates outstanding or distinctive relationships beyond the normal expectation.
- Provides noteworthy service to youth, contributing to increased youth participation.
- Cooperates with the district and/or council.
- Involves the institutional head in the selection of quality unit leadership.
- Increases the reputation of Scouting within the community organization.
